About VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide).
VIP is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide and immune-system modulator with widespread effects on vascular tone, gut motility, lung function and neuroinflammation. It is studied in chronic inflammatory syndromes and biotoxin-related illnesses.
VIP is rapidly degraded; the magistral preparation is typically administered intranasally or via subcutaneous injection at frequent intervals.
VIP binds VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors and signals via Gs-coupled cAMP pathways. It drives vasodilation, downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines, modulates regulatory T-cell function and supports neurogenesis in the hippocampus.
Subcutaneous injection, typically 25–50 mcg, 1–4 times per day depending on indication.
